The Valenti Megathread

Have you urged Darryl to try one of your Valenti "DJ"-style basses? Note that Darryl's Lakland axe uses a pair of Aero single-coils. This bass is also equipped with a strings-thru/top-load combo bridge or "dual-access", a feature popularized by Fender, Lakland and other famous high-end "boutique" luthiers. On the other side, you told me that none of your basses had 20 frets. It's wrong! I've seen a Valenti P-style bass with an alder body, Olympic White finish, tortoise scratchplate and a rosewood fretboard with 20 frets. Also, I suggest you to make 4-string "Deluxe"-style P and J-Basses in addition to the standard 5-string models. Hence now the time to employ the Fender Deluxe 5 design in the much requested 4-string format, as the Fender US Deluxes are not only for 5-string players but also for 4-string aficionados!

I don;t urge anyone to play my basses. If someone wants to order one of my basses, they can feel free but I'm pretty sure Darryl has no idea who I am. :)

I'm confused. What does this have to do with the basses I build? Personally, I do not hear or feel a different between a top load and rear load so I don't offer it as an option. I'm not other famous luthiers. I'm me. :) I

HAHAHA. I don't know where this is coming from. :) I did not say none of my basses had 20 frets. You were talking about the Geddy basses I built and I was responging to the specs of those basses, not every bass that I've built. Some did have 20 frets, some do have 35" scale but not the Geddy looking basses that I built that you were talking about in your previous posts.

 I'm a small builder. I have very, VERY limited funds to work on new designs. The new models I would like to make are newer model. Not to copy Fender exactly. I'm working on a 24 fret model, a J shaped body with a Spectorish Curved body and eventually (in the distant future) a 6 sting bass.

There are a lot of great bass builders that offer a lot of different specs. Unfortunately, every builder can not make every player happy or there would be only one company. :)

Just want to chime in here. I've finally given #23 a good home. I've been wanting a five string P/J ever since I got my Reverend 4 P/J and this bass delivers on so many levels. Very few basses have exceeded my expectation and this one has.

I also have to add, Nino's reputation for customer service is well deserved. One of the tuners had issues and he sent me a replacement part asap.

I look forward to the J shaped curved body design, I love the contour on my thumb and would really like to see how the design translates on a J style body.

Here you go!!!!

Hey Nino thanks for getting my bass shipped out to me by Friday, I plan to take down to Memphis for some southern funking this weekend.
Peace

Anthony, After having the privilege of meeting you and playing some of your most excellent creations under the influence of some most excellent Scotch. I'm sure if Daryl had the opportunity, he'd leave Mick and the boys hanging at a Stadium gig just for the chance to basque in your presence!:D
