I'm a #1. :hyper: :hyper:

I just picked up this bass at Bass Specialties today. I was planning to thin out the heard for another Sadowsky 5, but now I wish I would have found this bass first. The action on it is crazy low and I love the Nordstrand pick ups.

Here are the spec's and hopefully pic's will come soon

34" 5 string Jazz Bass
Maple Neck w/Pau ferro Fretboard
Swamp Ash Body
59B' Finish
Clear Satin Finish on neck
Aguilar OBP-1 preamp
Vintage Tone Control
Nordstrand Big Single Pickups

Grats, V! I think you are gonna love it! :bassist: :bassist: :bassist:

Thanks Tom -

The Valenti is way too much fun. But for some reason my husband isn't as scared of playing this one as he is my Sadowsky:p

But the DB 750 and SA410 have made him enjoy playing his old MIJ Daphne Blue P Bass - as he said "D***, that rig makes even this sound great."

#3, and hopefully moving to #2 this week, waiting on paypal to verify my checking account. Grrr

Here is the cut and paste of my email from Nino, as soon as I get my checking account verified on paypal, I'm putting the deposit down.
"Hello Ron,

A bass like you're describing will cost $2049.00 with hardshell case.
Here are the specs:

4 string P bass

Maple neck w/Ebony Fretboard
Pearloid Blocks and white binding
Satin Finish on neck with Gloss Green burst peghead
1 3/4" but width
12" fretboard radius
Black/White/Black pickguard
Black hardware
Hipshot B-Style Bridge
HB-1 Tuning Gears
Aguilar OBP-1 Preamp w/VTC
Nordstrand NPJ4SE pickups
Neck pickup cover (if I can find a black bridge cover, I will use it)
Thumb rest"

"The control layout of the bass will be:

Master Volume
Blend
Passive Tone (VTC) w/Preamp Bypass
Treble/Bass on a Stacked pot."

"My current build time is 4-5 months so if you place an order now, the bass will most likely be completed by the end of January. "

Woohoo! Late Christmas/Birthday present to myself!!! I just hope the paypal thing hurries up, else it's gonna take a while to send a money order.

WOW!!!! This in a 4 string might be my next bass!!!!!!!!!! :D

Valenti Basses are excellent.

Clearly, the 5-string versions are all fitted with 22 frets and their pickguard/body shapes were similar to that of the Fender American Deluxes; even including Jazz Bass models strongly inspired from the famous Geddy Lee signature bass, with black-finished alder bodies, 3-ply W/B/W pickguards and maple necks with black binding and black block inlays.

Nino Valenti is an Italian luthier who lives in the US since many long years. His basses are famous for their classic Fender-like design. Their quality, craftsmanship, playability and comfort are just amazing!

Argh. Why did I click on this thread!!!:hmm:

I should just go buy the sherwood green Valenti in the Classifieds. It's *fairly* close to what I would order anyway.

Nino,

Any ideas as to when/if you'll be offering 24 fret and/or 35" scale 5 strings?? I thought you had mentioned it in another thread, but I may be dreaming things up again.;) (Apologies if this has already been answered in this or another thread, I'm too lazy to go back and read through it all!!)

Okay, after talking with several people here in PM, I think I'll be getting one of these. Just sent Nino an email. Right now, that J/MM bass of Mike's looks amazing. I followed the thread where it was being built rather loosely, but I'm about to go back and reread it all. I was getting close to pulling the trigger on a 55-94, but this seems to be more of what I want here.
