Do you still have that? I'd like to see a better picture of it if you do.

Nope. I wish I did. It's one of my favorite basses of all time :( Here are some more pics though...

The one Nino is building for me (99.5% complete, not yet shipped) has been a funny progression of bumps in the road. First he switched back from Callowhill to USACG, adding a then-undetermined amount of time onto the turnaround. Then USAGC didn't spray the neck with the vintage tint I requested, so Nino had to send it back. Then the Nordie pickup turned out to have the wrong string spacing, so he had to get a new one. Then the new pup turned out to be single-coil instead of the humcancelling style I requested, so we're waiting on yet another pup to be sent.

I'm not complaining, but it's almost enough to make me think the bass is cursed! As I keep telling Nino though, I'd rather wait for something to be "just right" rather than rush it just to get it done, so I'll wait patiently, as I'm sure the bass will be sweet when it finally lands.

Edit: just so it's clear, I'm not at all being negative here- just relaying a funny progression of groans and bumps in the road. Nino has been great about communicating and responding throughout.

This mirrors my experience with any custom build.
It just takes a while.
But, it's worth it when something that used to live just in your head shows up on your next gig/session.

i've had this thing for a little over a year. Love the bass. It's become my no. 1!

Nino: would like to know what size L wrench I need to buy to adjust the truss rod! Somehow, I seem to have lost the one that came with the bass. And since I live in the tropics, cant ask for a new one!

Thanx.

OK; chores done, bills paid, dinner cooking, bass unpacked.
Very nice!
The setup is a little low for my "leans toward upright, hamfisted style." No biggie.
The older, deeper, warmoth neck doesn't bother me, just as it doesn't on the other Valenti, my warmoth 51P5, or J5.

The big surprise to me is how much darker the Fat Stack is than the Big Singles I have. In fact, it's darker than the P pickup in this bass. I have to roll significant treble in with the preamp to make it sound "like you'd expect a big honkin' J bridge pickup to sound.''

I've not had an Aguilar preamp. If someone can clue me in on how the "pull to shift mid freq center point," works...that'd be great.

It's quite a different sounding bass than the other Valenti I have, which has 2 Big Singles, and an Audere two band...which is just fine by me: I really was hoping they'd sound pretty different from each other, and they do.
