Yes! Exactly! I mean if you cant stay true to the rules of physics, how can I believe in the reanimation of the dead?

But seriously, the van noses over, but then lands on its wheels? It would've been a nose dive or or its roof. When they were strapping in I was thinking that wont help much when you land upside down and get crushed.

If you stay true to the rules of LIFE, zombies are impossible.

If you stay true to the facts of biological function, zombies are impossible.

If you stay true to the rules of bio-mechanical function, zombies are impossible.

Only if you believe in magic are zombies possible. Or Harry Potter, etc, etc.

So a little play with physics for the story I can swallow. The entire thing is fantasy.

Facts exist in documentaries not fiction.

I'll tell you what I found unbelievable. That dude couldn't get out from under that book case? And also, why did Daryl, Carol and that dude have to run out of the building when the cops came? They couldn't find any place to hide in a 30 story building?

I was kidding, thats why the second part of my post started with "but seriously", cos everything prior was rubbish.

Darryl had trouble lifting the bookcase off of him, so it would have been pretty hard for Noah to lift the bookcase off of himself. I agree on leaving the building, but they were going where Noah knew it was safe. The big building would have a lot of unknowns in it and they didn't want to make noise killing walkers that the cops could hear.

I'm with eyeball on this one. It's simple mechanisms of suspension of disbelief. The creators of the show have already put us in a world where zombies are real and have used the storyline to attempt to explain some of the how, though a majority of that remains a mystery intentionally as part of the carrot on a stick for the viewer. That said, they have not introduced us to any reason why basic physics is any different in this world. That is why the van scene as well as a lot of the absurd gun shootout scenes bother me. Hey... ammo is heavy, they have an infinite supply, they never reload, there is never any recoil. Headshots in the dark! :woot:

Don't get me wrong, I do love the show so whatever on the physics stuff. I do have a hard time ignoring as it's happening though. Suspension of disbelief in fiction is something every writer needs to be mindful of. For me, some of those details are the difference between a good and a great story. Taking place in a world where zombies are real. :D

Alright, you convinced me. My point was that, besides the zombies and the van, there's a lot of disbelief I have to suspend. So I just let go and enjoy the ride.

I don't understand why everybody isn't boning everybody. It's the apocalypse and you don't know if you'll be alive tomorrow. That prison should have been like a scene out of Caligula. I read that during the Bosnian war, people were doing the ol' slap and tickle like it was going out of style.
