The Walking Dead: Season Five

I really like the guy who plays Tyesse. The way he portrays his inner struggle. He's battling with holding onto his humanity and compassion but at any moment he could just snap and never come back. You can see it in his eyes and
the way his hands shake. Like he's afraid of what he might become.

I agree, I also like how in walking dead the main characters aren't exactly house hold name actors but talented none the less.

Terry Crews is a good actor but you would see him as Terry Crews playing Tyresse not as just Tyresse. Also with Terry Crews being this diesel tough looking guy the inner struggle of Tyresses character may get dampened. The guy who plays him portrays it perfect.​

I keep seeing John Travolta in "Michael". Im waiting for him to sprout wings in the middle of a zombie attack!

Can you imagine hiding from zombies with a kid with whooping cough?!

My Son and I watch Walking Dead it is a great show and I am glad they picked up another season. But with all the innocent people being killed by the sword today in the real world, I think the writers should have used better judgement before opening with the throat cutting stuff imo

The makeup/effects for that shot were awful, just everything about it looked bad to me.

There are fewer beheadings in countries where Walking Dead is popular.

The only logical conclusion is that everyone should watch more Walking Dead to bring peace to the world!

I know, but as soon as I saw that scene, my friend and I both looked at each other and thought the same thing.

I think the point of a horror fantasy like Walking Dead is to take on issues of violence in a way that is removed from the actual world. I think the parallel between Terminus and ISIS is appropriate although the industrialized nature of their killing reminded me more of the Nazi Holocaust.

I can see your point, but the parallel I felt was enough to push that beginning ahead. Do you remember I think Arnold S was supposed to come out with a movie the same year 911 happen and the story was so close the delayed releasing the movie. I think he played a fireman battling terrorists

The big difference is that the movie you cited was directly based on reality. A zombie apocalypse is pure fantasy, the dead cannot wake up and start eating human flesh anymore than they will turn into vampires. In the context of a fantasy, the violence should be alright even if it is perpetrated by the human characters.

I just like the concept. My favorite zombies so far were when they first got to the prison and there were walkers in riot gear. How do you stop a zombie with a helmet, shield and bulletproof vest?

It never dawned on me to draw a parallel to ISIS. Stunning an animal with blunt force trauma to the head followed by exanguination over a trough has been (and continues to be) a commonly used method for killing livestock. The scene is intended to depict the fact that the Terminus folk were using humans as livestock - a point which became even more clear in the next scene with the torsos on the meat hooks. Altering the scene because of the ISIS beheadings would never have occurred to me had I been given a vote.

Just thinking out loud here: What would happen if that guy that "knows the cure" was actually lying the whole time, just so that a group of people would defend him with their lives? Would be an awful twist to show up and find out that the whole trip was a waste.
