The Walking Dead Series 2

Exactly my gripe... I love the show, but it fell off right after Season 1's finale... Exactly HOW many episodes did they spend trying to find Sophia? And I wanted to bash my head against the wall with half of Rick and Lori's choked up convo's ("He talked about the deer...:crying:, HE TALKED ABOUT THE DEER!!!:bawl:). To me, while he may be a bit wacko, Shane is the most rational one of all the group. I swear I'm gonna lol when he finally pulls a Otis on Dale...

If they can slowly branch out to different areas like they did with the bar scene the show won't lag as much, but to dedicate a whole half a season on a boring farm and a little girl becoming zombiefied is a bit absurd (plus didn't Rick already blow a kid's head off back in the pilot?)

Lastly, even though I don't really like the guy, I have to agree with Dave Navarro's point on Talking Dead. Where are all the zombies on a show about zombies??
If this show ever goes through a slow point like the farm again, for more than say two episodes, it will lose a lot of viewers who will not want to come back after being fooled twice.

The show is also about survival. We take the day to day things for granted, which is why so many are bored.

I find the human-to-human conflicts and dynamics as engaging and interesting as the zombie encounters.

The gore only has shock value if applied judiciously and contextually. Too many gratuitous zombie headshots and splattered brains and it loses impact.

This show is not for people who are bored with character development and the human element.

Now, Rick having to play Dirty Harry with a rogue band of (human) bad guys, that's a pretty cool plot twist. Especially in light of all the other conflicts currently running red hot on the farm.

I love the farm, it really develops the characters and makes you care when they get eaten eventually.

I didn't mind it either but they milked that setting entirely too long. Almost as if the people making the show were stalling for something.

That and the way some characters have developed just makes me want them to die horrible deaths anyways.

They were. It was Sophia's death.

They had you right where they wanted you.

True dat.

Again, they have you right where they want you. :)

This is getting kinda humorous. Suddenly everyone is telling me to "take it easy" like I'm throwing a fit or something.

I'm literally chuckling over here.

Okay boys, I'll behave now, I promise.

Stick a smiley after your post and then there are no crossed wires. :)

Anyway, I've yet to see this new episode as we are 5 days behind in the UK, but it sounds like a good one. A nod to the original DOTD with the arrival of the hooligans at the previously secure shopping mall? Potential is there to make it mighty interesting, so let's hope the writers don't blow it.
