The weaponization of Nerf.

Footballs where easy to make back in the day. When I was young, we played with real guns, BB or Pellet, or we made rubber band guns out of a broom handle. We also had cap guns. Now it's easy and cheap to have a nerf gun made in China for kids to play with inside. I don't think this really indicates anything personally.

theyve been arming children for quite some time now; nothing new. im 26 and had a blast in the 5-7th grade range having nerf fights in the house with neighbors. ive also never owned a gun (pretty sure im not legally allowed to though...) or committed a violent crime.

honestly, id say its about as violent as a water fight. people just like to blame their poor parenting on something else.

those things are incredible fun for 10 bucks.

when i was a kid we used to play rough. we didnt want toys, we wanted our moms to buy brooms that the handles unscrewed so we could beat eachother with no mercy. now kids just shoot eachother with foam darts when you can get them to drop the ps3 controller long enough to do anything at all.

long and short is when i was a kid nerf was soft and WE were weaponized.
now kids are soft and nerf is weaponized. theyre just trying to find a balance on how to turn a profit with a bunch of anemic kids.

All children should practice well for the coming Zombie Apocalypse. Nerf offers an easy and cost effective way to do this.

This is exactly what I was thinking, but minus the zombie part. Kind of like they're training our kids to be soldiers of the future by arming them with these highly effective plastic toys. Another thing that kind of concerns me is that since these toys are plastic and can be taken apart and put back together easier, can they be passed through airport security and modified to shoot other things like some kind of delivery for anthrax or something? Am I thinking too hard? Is it possible I need to switch my sack up?

Seriously. We threw rocks, and used sticks and one of my friends had a crossbow. I was way more inclined to use a super soaker (weaponized water) than a sissy nerf dart.

I doubt that nerf guns would make effective anthrax delivery vehicles.

Now, we used to make those paper "hornets" or "stingers" in school (folded pieces of paper that were hard and stung when you were hit). Some kid put a couple of BB's in the end of one and then a teacher found one with bb's on the floor and excreted masonry and the cops came and yelled at everyone. i bet someone has thought of putting needles in the end of a nerf dart before.

But, like, zombies and stuff. Kids need to practice to fight them off.
