*** They have girls in BSA now?
my ex figured video games were a underhanded way for the government to train legions of future weapons systems operators to be completely devoid of empathy for their "targets"
Oh **** did we used to get into some trouble with kickballs! We used to play a variety of equipment tag and dodgeball by using a kickball to throw at each other while on playground equipment. You get hit with the ball, your it and on the ground. That and exploding enchilladas which was a free for all dodgeball game where we would run around throwing the ball till you got hit. Then you would sit till evey other person was out. The people on the ground could throw the ball though.
Lol, people know the difference between a game and real life. That is as much valid as saying watching a violent movie and liking it means you'll like see people getting killed in real life.
Where I live right now, a lot of my co-workers grew up with their own 22.
When we were little we played smeer the ... with an actual football. When that got tiring we busted out the soccer ball and played peg. No one was out, ever, you just picked up that ball and hit the nearest damn kid as hard as you could. All too often the neighborhood crybaby would run home to tell his mom. Hey man, if you can't handle it, dont play, we may call you a ***** but at least you'll save some face.
We also used unripe oranges from my friends orange tree as ammo is massive games of war. The battlefield was the neighborhood condo complex, as it had some cool pathways and optimal hiding places. We got a lot of bruises.
Then there was the phase of "go kart" buidling. We'd find random parts from the neighbors trash or from our Dad's old stockpiles of junk. My team, of course, had the best one. It was contructed from a dolly and use the wheel from a lawn edger as front wheels we could steer. Don't forget the block of wood behind the seat to drop obstacles in others ways, or the steel link chain to tangle up in their wheels. My favorite part was the metal tubes we installed for shooting skyrockets and the roadflare that we had for absolutely no reason.
Then there were the forts we constructed in the backyard for our war purposes, with boobytraps, pulley gates, and our favorite, the "turret", that was a bike missing its front wheel that we used to shoot skyrockets out of the fork. We liked shooting skyrockets.
We played with nerf guns in the house, but spent most of our time outside.

Its actually a lot of fun/waste of time....
Jarts, anyone?
A friend of mine's dad had some in the basement from the 1950's, the real metal lawn darts.
We decided it would be cool to make a stick to launch them, and when we got one to go up in a ballistic curve and punch throgh the roof of the car, that's when his dad decided to put them away.
Of course, we all scattered when it happened, but then came back to see him get in trouble. it was lulzy, but we never got to play with Jarts again.
Although, that was until we threw one threw a window.
We had a set of those. The game is actually pretty fun. Although, that was until we threw one through a window.
The Ultimator was not made by Nerf, but but by Mattel. It was the absolute best foam nerf-style projectile weapon ever made. Everything else was second best.i had a weapon(not made by nerf) called an Ultimator that goes for over $300. You pumped it up with a spring loaded chamber that shot hard foam. It kinda hurt but only if you were close. I shot it at the deer in our back yard since we couldn't have weapons
When I was a kid Nerf made things like footballs. Now it's all guns, and swords and stuff. Anyone else a little concerned about this trend? Highly effective guns made out of plastic. Sometimes I wonder if manufacturers are just putting out what the market demands, or if they are making some kind of prediction on where things are heading. Makes me wonder if the know something we don't.![]()
