Tonight, I had a couple of really great beers:
Trappistes Rochefort 8 and Three Floyds Dreadnaught DIPA. I've been on a big IPA kick this last week. I'm a stout guy at heart but all the coffee and chocolate was getting to me.

It was but I think I like the Columbus IPA better. It has a smoother flavor where the Comm. Perry IPA has almost a burnt quality to it.

I liked the Hopness Monster Ale better but both were good.
I've lived in Texas just over 4 years and have yet to try Shiner. So I picked this up this afternoon. Looks like it'll be a good introduction.

Oh wow! I'd say that would be a great introduction. Great, now I'm thirsty again but I have to work so looks like I'll be stopping at the store on the way home. I swear, ever since I started reading this thread I've boosted the local beer economy by at least 12%.
I played at a cool, upscale club this weekend where they have a decent beer selection. I was in a foul mood Friday and needed a nice drink, so I ordered a couple Chimay blues. We get 1 free drink per set, woohoo.
Saturday I was in a more adventurous mood and decided to try McSorley's Irish Black Lager. Did not like it at all. It had good mouthfeel but just had no flavor, very bland to me. With my adventuresome spirit unsatisfied, I had a good old Ranger IPA on tap. Ranger hits my fairly low hops threshold, but it is well balanced and is about as far as you can push me on hoppiness. The bar back was helping out and tried to put the Ranger into a chilled glass. I was yelling "no, no!" A guy at the bar said "he's right, don't put that in a chilled glass!"

Went to Shoreline Brewing in Michigan City, IN for the second time on Saturday. I've tried probably half a dozen of their beers and hit on the only real gem of their lineup so far, Lost Sailor Imperial Stout. The lady tried a couple of things and the red ale was really good, so maybe I'll order a pint of that next time.

Seriously, though, it's strong and delicious.
There's a place here in town called the Winking Lizard Tavern, which happen to sell over 200 different types of beer. I went there Friday and totally fell in love with Dogfish Head's 90 Minute IPA. It was thick and strong, about 9% ABV., but it went down oh so good. It's now in my top 5 list of brews.
