The worse tasting candy EVER!

I guess you've never heard of Durian before?

Durian - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

"The smell evokes reactions from deep appreciation to intense disgust, and has been described variously as almonds, rotten onions, turpentine and gym socks. The odour has led to the fruit's banishment from certain hotels and public transportation in southeast Asia."

LOL guys. I'm Singaporean, and durian is eaten as commonly by families around here as people from Philly eat cheesesteaks. That being said, I don't like durians. LOL.

I don't think it smells like onions or anything for that matter, but whaddya know? I've probably got accustomed after smelling them for nearly 18 years! Haha. Obviously they don't smell pleasant though. Hahah I've only tasted and sampled them but have never dared to eat a fruit.

I had had Durian. Not as bad as you would think. The smell (to me) was like gasoline.

There are more unpleasant flavors, to be sure. Try Bitter melon if you really are feeling adventurous!

Also, I love Kimchee....but the smell is really rancid. When you open the jar, it tends to explode. That should give you an idea of the chemical reactions taking place in there!

Try some horehound candy. That is some nasty stuff too.

Since you are in New England, offer them some Moxie "Original Elixer" soda pop. Now, there is something that requires an acquired taste.

You can always offer somebody some limburger cheese. That stuff smells extremely foul. The cheese is especially known for its pungent odor commonly compared to body odor. When I was a little kid, my dad and uncle used to get drunk and eat limburger cheese and raw onions sandwiches and they blow their breath in our faces.

.

I am a horehound addict--it's my favorite hard candy by a long shot. I can understand why it's an acquired taste though; a lot of the folks I offer one to end up spitting it out. I have a nasty cough right now and am going to grab a pack tonight--they're great on the throat.

Of course I might have terrible taste, I also like necco wafers. :D

Have you ever tried Fisherman's Friend cough drops? They are very potent.

NECCO is the oldest American candy company IIRC. I think they suck, but I do like horehound.

And if the Japanese DO ever make poo candy I think they need to make it
1. in the same shape as a LifeSaver but slightly oval (think about it) and
2. call them either "Johnies" or "Bung-Bungs"
