Turn left at the gopher.
In the spirit of the "Worst Band Ever" thread, I want to hear what people think are the worst covers ever and why.

Me:

Whiskey in the Jar. Metallica. They took Thin Lizzy's interpretation of the Irish folk song and took it from a lament full of both despair, and joy and turned into another snarl fest with no insight into what that song is about. Despicable.

Then there's "Bad Company" by Five Finger Death Punch. As if that sophomoric band name isn't enough, they take a song that was an entertaining homage to the old west outlaws and spaghetti westerns and turned it into a complete joke; an hell dog growl with none of the original appeal remains, just nastiness. That over blown grunt about "we all gotta die" is the limit. Just pitiful.

Go.

I'm not quite as nostalgic about the 2 originals but those 2 are pretty bad.

Ahh, thank you for saving me from looking up who did this. All I remembered was that it was some teenybopper who changed the line to "Hope I don't die before I get old.":rollno:
