I've been on TalkBass under one account name or another since 2005, and have done everything from sold/bought items, given reviews on new gear, argued the perks/losses of different styles, help give advice to newbies, etc. One thing I can say is that through it all, I've gained a wonderful respect and friendship for JimmyM. Though, he may be a bit controversial at times, and we don't always agree, he knows his ****. Just speaking with him personally, or seeing his opinionated posts on a multitude of subjects, has me on the list of his greatest fans. He truly is a blessing to this forum and site, and to our overall bass community in general. I just wanted to take the time to start a thread, and give him the respect and acknowledgment he deserves. Here's a chance for everyone to express their appreciation to him, and show him that though he may not always be welcome here at TB, we love him.

I voted him for Bass Pope earlier this year!

I find JimmyM's comments informative and entertaining! I like reading JimmyM's remarks!

He's also a "real deal" bass player and an avid and prolific TalkBass member.

At the same time, JimmyM doesn't take any "sheet" and it's best to be respectful of his threads and posts and not insight him with rudeness.

He might be a little bit opinionated but he's colorful, knowledgable, intelligent and a BASSIST!

Anyone with a James Brown avatar is probably gonna be pretty cool!

Viva JimmyM!

Phil, truth is you probably shouldn't care ;)

Greg, you'll be happy to know I don't wear aftershave. Or deodorant. And I have poor bathroom habits and will wait for months before trimming my toenails. How do I stay married?
