He sometimes posts reponses to my posts as I do to his.. great bass payer, great guy and great TBer.

I have tried to emulate him to the point of nearly being bannished.. I got merely a wrist slap over a a misunderstanding, which is why I sometimes post a disclaimer with some of my posts/ opinions..LOL...

Though, he may be a bit controversial at times.

I'd say more that he's plain speaking and calls a spade a spade. Unless he's joking about you know he believes in what he says and means it well, and as far as I can tell without any malice that I've seen. My devo-style flowerpot hat is off to him.

He had a heart attack a couple of years ago during a fan fest.. I believe ...Nashville??

..LOL.. I saved the voicemail he initially left.
I called back.. he was staying at Randy Alls' place here.

He told me he's had a few minor strokes as well.

My boss has pics of him at his house from years back.. wearing a cowboy hat.. Without the mask.. you'd never know him..LOL..

Said his wife fell in love with Hawaii during a visit.. They decided to call it home..she passed away 10 years ago, he said.. but Hawaii is still 'their' home...sighs...

When I first joined talkbass a few months ago, I asked for some advice. JimmyM was one of the first guys to chime in and help me out. I believe he is the real deal even if he don't trim his toenails for months at a time!

Plus I think he's my age and came up in the same golden days of bass....geezers gotta hang...
