Double Bass Thick vs thin neck

I'm more interested in discussing neck width than neck thickness.

Figure out what you like for center to center string widths off the nut, and then what do you like for center to center string widths at the bridge? Lay it all out to scale.

Then, what do you like for an edge margin? Do you like your edge margin consistent or flaring (following the same ratio as the gap increase)?

Using this thought process, our Karr model has a lot narrower of a neck than, say our Brescian, because of the string to string measurements.

It's subtle...but it all adds up. Talk with whoever is making your bass and see what their thoughts are on this.

Thanks Eric for the reply...can you tell me what the string nut/bridge spacing specs are for your Karr model bass? I cannot seem to find them on your web site. Thanks, Mark
