Things only Australians do.

Vote today, or get fined.

Or give a frogs fat a*** who wins today.

The thing is, we are one of the few western countries that have compulsory voting. I would be all for non-compulsory voting.

Actually, I would be all for a law that states that unless you are a net tax-payer you don't get to vote. Why should you be able to vote for more and more free stuff every election without giving a crap how it might affect the country? I should stop now before I get too worked up.

Might as well put an IQ Test as well.

If Labour win tonight end Shorten will be Australia's tenth PM in 6 months :roflmao:

They salute, in the summer time, tourette-style, every seven seconds or so - slowly tapering off towards winter time - no matter what's goin' on, even if there's no bastard within earshot.

Didn't read this whole thread. But wondering if there's such a thing as 'glassing' ... as in celebratory smashing of your beer bottle when you finish it, on public sidewalks. I had a gal pal who lived in Melbourne for a bit, and I recollect that's what she told me was common

Glassing, in Sydney anyway, is thrusting a glass into another persons face. Not nice.

Drunk idiots maybe, but no its not a thing. Glassing is a horrible violent act that leaves victims terribly injured.
