I think it's become more anger than annoyance at this point, but:

Illegal fireworks. I am so done with the sheer arrogance of people shooting off illegal fireworks in the middle of a drought-stricken city. Never mind the fact that it's illegal AND a clear danger to life and property - some folks just have to shoot off their cannons (that's what some of them sound like - ridiculously LOUD!!!) no matter what. And the deeper we get into drought, the more people shoot off illegal fireworks!

My next-door neighbor's yard was set on fire two nights ago by a fireworks remnant set off by one of the neighbors behind my house. Granted, my next-door neighbor should do something about his tinder-dry, knee-high vegetation, but that certainly doesn't excuse the people using the illegal fireworks. If my brother hadn't been in my backyard and saw the fire early, it could have been a lot worse. Several of those remnants landed in my yard, too, but nothing caught fire (thank God).

It's not harmless fun, and it doesn't matter that it's "just one night" (it's actually 2 or 3 nights around here). It only takes one ember to cause a tragedy. And did I mention it's ILLEGAL?!

Ditto here. Most of the local cities cancelled their fireworks shows due to extremely dry conditions, but that didn't stop the yahoos from shooting off theirs. We are in a severe drought here in the desert, and the last thing we need is yet another brush fire. But my neighbor behind me, who is actually a very nice guy, decided to celebrate like never before. They had a small party on Sunday night (the 3rd), and only set off a few. No biggie, I would expect a couple here and there. But Monday night (the 4th), they had a huge party and their fireworks show went on for a freakin' HOUR. Thankfully no collateral damage in my immediate area, but I did read of three separate houses catching fire in neighboring Glendale. You wanna do something that affects your own property, fine. But when you risk others' properties and homes, have some respect. Idiots. Thoughtless, selfish idiots.

I've noticed this unfortunate trend of people posting opinions like this, even though they've never left the continental USA. And the ones who've ventured abroad aren't climbing the sheer faces of cliffs, or exploring uncharted jungles. Some folks go on a few cruises, or to Vegas for a weekend, or they've been to Europe once, and suddenly they're Ernest Hemingway. The arrogance is very annoying. Just go and enjoy yourselves, but please drop the superior attitude.

During the lockdown, when nobody was supposed to be gathered anywhere, the local cities cancelled all the usual organized firework displays. These are local cities that were devastated by fires just a couple of years before.
On July 4th I have never seen so many fireworks going off. I live close to 700' above sea level, and the cities I can see from my yard and street (denuded of trees - because of the fires...) were ablaze with sparkles and crumps. It sounded like Passchendaele out there, and the sky was as bright as day. Every street seemed to be firing them up, for as far as I could see.
