Those camcorders remind me of the first "consumer" video camera I ever saw. My uncle bought it back around 1976 or 77. It had just come out, it was crazy expensive and there were actually two pieces... the camera itself, and then the recording unit and battery pack which you had to strap to your back. The camera probably weighed 20 pounds and the recorder pack more like 30 or 40.

And now you can shoot video with a phone that's smaller than a deck of cards.

I still have a Sylvania full size camcorder I bought back in the mic 1980s for $1,000 (a lot of money then). I had to make payments on it. It has the battery inside but is was bulky. I also bought a tripod. Of course, everybody wanted me to video tape stuff for them, which was a pain. However, I had it when my kids were growing up and taped many memorable moments.

I think only eastern-based Canadians will get this one.

Zellers had bought them. Come to think of it, Zellers itself will eventually become Target stores, so even Zellers' days are numbered. So they sort of belong on this list.

I used to love those table jukeboxes. And I'm pretty sure my parents did too - I'd read every single song on those while waiting for the food to come...kept from sibling bickering!
You know..now I think of it I wish they still had those for my kids when we go out...
