I know it's an old post, but I just saw it now. Here to say WE STARTED THAT THING HERE IN BROOKLYN! In the 60s. Took time to get to you guys out there in Jersey :).

Made me sad to think that nowadays they could never have anything like the machine around. It would be considered a weapon dispenser, as kids are too violent and stupid to be able to co-exist with such a thing.

Joe I was born in 58' so it surely would have been the mid 60's we were extending forks as well. I remember in the beginning we used to just hammer the extension on, but you can guess where that got us :) after that we drill and put a bolt with a lock nut. My Bike was a Columbia Playboy 60 something in Metallic Green white Banana seat with green and gold metal flake accent. as was the handlebar grips chrome flared fenders this color green

I Googled Nehru jackets and iridescent pants, from the 60's, but I think they are still in style, so that leads me to:


crop tops for woman (70's).
To my eyes, they began and ended at an unflattering position on a woman's body that also flattened her appearance...showed lots of skin, but hid her identity.


Hip-Huggers.

Again, for me anyway, they were unflattering for a woman's body. Started too low, thus masking any hourglass shape she might possess.

Looked even worse to me when some male lead singers were donning them in the 70's.
