I started my computer programming career in 1975 using one of these things. Type your program into the keyboard, it comes out onto the punched paper tape on the side, then read the paper tape into the tape reader next time you want to run the program. Ahhh... the good old days.
Ha-ha..... In 1977 an Army recruiter sold me on running the launch system for Pershing missiles. Told me that I would learn all about computer technology running this 1965 era NASA inspired technology. Oh yeah.... That was one fine learning experience... And I took the bait!
I still have a copy of a dungeon game called "Hunt The Wumpus" (in BASIC) saved on paper tape somewhere from my college days.
HA... What is scary is my wife ran a board not too dissimilar from this for the state in the early 1980's.
