I was sad to learn that this is something we will never see anymore...

It was around well into the 2000s... maybe even the 10s... but alas, it over. Some freaks are trying to sell a few packs on ebay for ridiculous amounts, but it just ain't worth it. I loved this stuff. It was that "special" candy my dad would bring home from work like twice a year . It was like gold to us.

I liked Sen-Sen. I did not know they quit making them. Billy Joel even sang about Sen-Sen in his song "Keeping The Faith".

These bad boys have been making a comeback in the market...

I just bought a similar one but have yet to try it out. I don't nick myself that often with the basic Gillette shaver but these are less forgiving. Might try it out over the long weekend, just in case I'm reckless while operating it.

I don't think kids today do anything like that? We spent most of our young life's outside figuring out ways to have fun. When I was a kid I went out of the house in the morning jumped on my bike and didn't show up till dinner time. We played every sport that was in season and unless you were sick you were outside!

Yes that's how it was in the 60's. We even closed our garage door. My mom and dad both worked, we walked home from school and walked right into the house, didn't need a key becasue the front door was only locked at night when we all went to bed.

I can't manage to get photos from my phone to TB these days, and it's a lot of rigamarole to get them elsewhere so I can post, but when I came across one of these in the wild it was a surprise. The little handle and ticky gears took me right back.

Are you still alive? I've been using one and have yet to cut my face but did manage to gouge my finger when I picked the thing up wrong. Ha.

Great shave. But there is a big difference between blades. Glad I got three different kinds to start. One works great on me, one is so-so, and the other is flat bad.

What blade have you settled on? What was the so-so and the flat bad?

I love the Wilkinson Sword Classic. Use one side for five or so shaves then use the other side for another five or so, then they go out to the garage for work use. They are fantastic at cutting the outer sleeve of cables.

Personna Platinum = nope
Astra Superior Platinum = meh
Polsilver Super Iridium = yeah baby

I gave it a fair trial last weekend. I couldn't get it to really shave anything...I'm guessing I must not using the correct angle when pulling it across my face. Trial and error...I'll figure it out eventually. FWIW, it's an off-brand, and using the cheap blades that came with it. Perhaps a higher quality steel would make a difference.
