Things You Don't See Anymore Part 3

I remember that all too well. I wonder what year that was, because I have a really clear, stupid memory about it. And I wonder how old I was.
I saw the commercial on TV, and told my mom I wanted to mix the baby powder we had in the house with water, and shake it up, cuz it would make the neat gooey sticky stuff. All I had to do was shake it, and put it in the refridgerator. She wasn't having it. Tried to explain to me why it wouldn't work, but I wasn't having it....
So I went to my grandmothers house next door, and convinced her to let me do it with her powder. Not sure why she allowed it, but she did. She gave me a little empty ricotta container (it was the tupperware of the time) to put some of her powder and water in. I did, shook it up like crazy, stuck it in her refridgerator, and waited. And waited. And waited. The next day I realized my mom was right. I needed the special "super stuff" powder in order to make it. She bought it for me. My mom was so smart.
Just looked closely and saw it said 1966. I was 5 years old. That's too old to be that stupid.... maybe it came out a year before....

These were the best thing to happen to 10 year old kids who built forts and played army in the woods:

Unfortunately, a bunch of idiots started robbing places with them... so they painted the tips orange (easily spray painted) and then started making them in neon. Then super soakers came out and the death knell for motorized water guns was sounded. Still to this day, nothing can compete when someone comes out of the garage with the hose.
My brother's friend had the double clip baretta machine gun, he would pee in the clips and then toilet paper houses, squirting the TP with pee when he was done. Smart fellow there...

Ha ha, I had the one on the bottom left, that exact one.
I brought it to school several times for 'field day' and 'spirit week' activities where they actually tolerated if not encouraged the use of water pistols.
Today I imagine a child would be arrested or worse for bringing something like that to school.

Anyone have (or remember having) a rubber-band-powered wind-up Wham-O-Bird? I had one in 1958, but haven't even been able to find a picture of one on the internet when I've searched over the years.
