^ So many outfits like those above throughout this thread. I remember seeing them in magazine ads etc back in the day, yet never do I recall ever seeing anybody foolish enough to wear some of them. Except Leisure Suits. Lime green and robin-egg blue come to mind...a couple of my teachers would wear those occasionally.
I wore red velvet corduroy bell bottoms (with a suave matching red zip-up knit mock turtleneck shirt) on at least a few instances in the early 70s. (Had to make my mom happy.
)
If I had photos of some of the clothes I wore in the 70s, you would all get a laugh.

Looks more like a standing around looking like a jackass suit than a walking suit. Did they also make a sitting suit that you’d change into before resting?

True story....
My parents had such couches. And a lot of drunken action took place on them late at night while my parents slept upstairs.
When they got rid of them about 15 years ago they donated them to the school I work it. Those couches became part of the SPARK counseling office where kids at risk would hang out, have group therapy sessions, and talk with a counselor.
What could I say? What could I do?
It just happened.
Was funny to me though.
I'll add that they DID have plastic slip covers pretty much all the years we had them. That's the only reason they were in good enough condition to donate.
