I was using one of these until about five years ago. I fell and messed up my shoulder, it hurt like hell to pull the cord on it, my line trimer or my leaf blower. I hired a lawn service for a couple of years. When the lawn guy announced that he was retiring I bought all cordless lawn gear. I've been using a cordless mower, line trimer and leaf blower for the past three years. This year I think that I'm going to make the jump to a cordless snow blower.

What brand did you go with?

Just want to tell a quick pointless story...

The only time I ever had access to one of those, I was about 12 years old and we were staying at a country house my uncle owned in Connecticut. My brother borrowed one from a friend that I, of course, was forbidden to use.

I got up the next morning at 6AM, wheeled it out onto the dirt road (we were really in the sticks), started it up and was in frikkken heaven. Felt like I was in the easy rider movie. About a mile away, still on dirt roads I hear a dog start barking. I turn and see a big German Shepard (the pit bulls of the 70s) racing down a driveway headed right for me. He was faster than mini bike, and I really thought that was it. I was about to pay for my crime. I don't remember exactly what transpired between the dog and me, but I had to stop the bike... and found out he just wanted to play.

I almost crapped myself a second time, just writing about that...

I LOVED riding that thing that day.

A motorcycle is still on my bucket list.

My dad had one of those. One day, when I was about 6, he was working on it out on the driveway, had it partially taken apart. I asked what he was doing. He said "cleaning the carburetor".

I said "It's not a carburetor. It's a lawnmowerburetor."

Was I wrong? :D

Edit: and if I recall correctly - my dad was indeed a "lawnmower berater" that day. (Naughty naughty words, daddy!) ;)
