Things You Don't See Anymore Part 3

Can’t help myself. Dang it.
From the “in bad taste” department.

I am not Politically Correct, and I don’t find that in “bad taste”.
He made money off it, and was satisfied doing the ad, so there was nothing wrong with it.
Plus, he could probably play video games, if he put effort into it. He can play everything else!

Oh yeah, he got compensated for this and he’s probably laughed about it himself. Just CYAing. You are quite right about his abilities. Wouldn’t be surprised.

Atari used to be up there with Macintosh in the early MIDI days. Wouldn't be at all surprised if they flicked him some tech he did find useful in return for that endorsement. I wouldn't even be surprised if he'd entered into some sort of contractual obligations with Atari. Although I don't care enough to Google it.

It's also worth noting that certain dictionaries in that era defined endless love as Stevie Wonder and Ray Charles playing tennis.

Firetraps as well if I recall. Ford payed out large for those ill-considered fuel tanks.
My grandfather owned two Pinto hatchbacks. He bought them used, just to tinker with. (I can’t imagine why.) Cars were his hobby. After the news about the fuel tanks came out, he ended up welding a giant I-Beam across the back of both, just under the bumpers. It solved the “explosion” problem, but didn’t help the fuel savings. He said he couldn’t conscientiously sell them to anyone without that.
