You jest but... I have friends who are into collecting Old Western Bottles (whiskey, etc) and they used to go around looking for old (aka 1850s gold rush era) outhouse sites to dig through because miners/cowboys/whoever used to just drop empty bottles down the hole when taking care of their business. Some of those bottles are worth 6 figures. One of those friends runs a very lucrative collectible bottle auction business because of this old practice. (He's actually a pretty big deal and considered an industry expert - if you're into this collectable world, you'd know his name.)
