I forget how we acquired it (probably from "Santa"), but we had the board game based on "Benji." The game was as lame as the show.
Now, a board game that was actually pretty clever in its design and play was from the '76 King Kong:
The goal was to get to the top of the WTC before Kong did. Kong had a turn built into the game play, and could rotate as he moved, knocking the player pieces back "down" to the bottom to start over if he made contact with your space.
You could get assists from the cards, like a "helicopter ride" to move ahead, or be fated to get closer to Kong with an "attack" card:
I wish I could find an intact version of this one, because it was really well thought out, and made of pretty good materials (the ones I've run across on fleabay tend to have missing pieces).
Maybe one of these days.
