What is this? Some sort of electronic autoharp?
Yes it was manufactured by Suzuki as an instrument for non-musicians. You press the labeled Chord key and strum the touch sensitive plate to create music. When I was issued one at work I thought it was cool. It turned out to be a huge pain in the butt.

Musitronics - that's a company that made a big impact in a short time. Their effects are STILL legendary.
SUZUKI M-37C. You actually blew into the flex tube which vibrated reeds and used the keyboard to play it. Totally a passive, analog instrument. Smokers need not try due to hyper-ventilation! Ha!

Not this model, but and bandmate plays a melodica and it's also a staple in elementary schools here.

Heh! I've still got a nominal "ashtray," but it's actually used as a power outlet, and MP3 aux input jack.
