Cars from the 60s and 70s looked SOOOO much cooler than cars of the past 20 years. People today are terrified of color, too.

Until you get behind the wheel. I live my '66 Karmann Ghia, but I see the steel dash, spoke steering wheel, and non-retractable lap belts, seat back that doesn't lock in place, etc, and I understand.

And concerning looks, it's much more about aerodynamics and pollution standards than individual style nowadays, so it's a trade-off.

On that note, and in keeping with the title of this topic, we don't see the really cool bizarre weirdo experimental avant garde-new wave-punk bands like there were in the early 80's. At least I don't see them anyway. Who is the Klaus Nomi of the 2020's? Or the B-52's? Pere Ubu? Or heck even Bow Wow Wow?
