Things You Don't See Anymore Part 3

It’s amazing how many early toys were based on guns, war and playing pretend violence. Not surprising though because a lot of us here grew up with WWll, Korea and VietNam close in the rear view mirror. Odd thing is real violence was not as prevalent in that society. We knew it was pretend. Hmmm…carry on.

Same with TV, movies, etc.

Fully agree. I had toy grenades, guns, etc. Built many plastic models of naval ships and military airplanes (my favorite is still the P-51 Mustang). Played army with friends. None of us turned out violent. I think people are just too sensitive today.

Not only did we not turn out violent; we survived.
