Friend of mine posted this on FB the other day, saw it at the Alameda flea market.
Yes kids that is a combination turntable/AM,FM,shortwave/bar/fireplace/speaker system. No modern bachelor pad should be without one.

My mother still has a combination home bar, color organ, record player, 8-Track player, AM/FM radio in her house from the late 70s that still runs and looks brand new.
...looks like something Jethro Bodine woulda had in his mobile bachelor pad.
That thing would have played some "HOT" tunes with the fireplace. However, I wonder if the heat warped the records.
I used to have the shell of an old TV/radio/record player that had been converted into a storage/display cabinet--with mirrored backing where the TV was--I used it for a while to store a number of things and put stuff on top of.
During one of my moves I decided I no longer needed it and sold it.
But it was never as cool as the one above or the description I quoted.
And I owned well after it was converted.

, but I wonder how many of us made some great recordings on this thing. I love and miss the simplicity that was the Porta One. But if I think for 2 seconds about Cubase... well, OK. I can live with the comlicated upgrades. We've come a long long way in 30 years. And I'm gettin old.

We owned one of these Fostex 4 Track Recording Machines. They sure were expensive back then.
I never seen it before and I don't think I will ever see it in print this the real one stopped publishing in 1955
so other one is out now but it isn't connected with this the original Newspaper that started in 1841!
