5th Avenue Candy Bars (with Almonds) when they were made by Luden's Candy Company. Hershey makes them now but no almonds on them. Not as good.

5th Avenue's are one of my all-time favorite candy bars. Along with Boyer Smoothies and Marathon bars. Actually there are very few candy bars I would refuse, but those ones were always my go-to's.

Boyer Candy Company of Altoona, PA, maker of Mallo Cups and Smoothies, now makes Clark Bars, which are similar to 5th Avenue and Butterfinger bars.

I was in Crosby's Market in Concord, Mass a few weeks ago and they had an aisle-side hang-down (don't know the correct term) display of Duncan Imperial yo-yos! All in a deep red. I bought one, for $4.00 why not? I still have a faint wisp of yo-yo skills, I discovered. But only the faintest.

You gotta be in those little mom and pop outfits to see products like this still for sale. I remember the yo-yo occupying many hours upon hours of my time as a kid. I don't think staring at a screen is the same thing.

Has anyone posted some of these old "man's magazine" covers yet? A fixture of my youth, but they were on their way out. Not dirty magazines. They might have a cheesecake photo or two but in the mode of the clad "pinup girl" not nude or anything.

FWIW, there's a town in northern Palm Beach County named Jupiter. Assuming it survives Nicole.

Wow what an Idyllic Photo. Everything is clean and modern in that old fashioned way.
The glass even looks squeaky clean...almost fake like a movie set from the Twilight Zone.
