Kustom threatened, but nothing came of it. The design/pattern of the padding was substantially different, and electronically, the head was not solid state(like Kustom), but a close knock-off of a Fender Showman. Up until a few years ago, I had an identical rig, it rocked hard, far more low end than a comparable Fender. The company mysteriously changed the name to “Earth”, ditched the tuck and roll for copies of Fender tweed(long before they brought it back), Sunn, and Peavey, before disappearing.

But then he did actually portray the monster later on, with makeup based on the Karloff precedent…
Nice clarification! Svengoolie showed the photo last Saturday and tied it in to Lugosi’s screen test for the first Frankenstein.
Yeah, I saw that, and noticed that his presentation was misleading. Many times his script is just verbatim/lifted from the IMDB profile of the particular film.

I think the motel “The Experience Motel” out here on West Capitol Ave had a very similar motif. Had mirrors on the ceiling too.
Back in the day and before urban renewal, West Capitol Ave, in West Sacramento had a few motels in this mode. Easy and accessible fun for youngsters like me."Shall we away, m'lady, on a journey to ye olde £ towne...?"
