Your edits and tunnel vision don't change anything: You made a tasteless joke based in ignorance and a lack of thought.Hope you don't get hurt falling offa your high horse. The fact that you could not understand my point does not make me wrong.
Back in the 90s, I worked at a place where the ownership was extremely religious. Never affected the daily routine, except one time I was reading a newspaper and the elderly semi-retired owner walked by and told me to cover up that pornography. At first I had no idea what he meant, and thought he was joking, but then he pointed to an ad of some department store's bra sale. I hadn't even noticed the ad, but it caught his eye.
Yeah, those grainy, black & white newsprint ads. Not exactly my 'go to' source for porn.![]()
OK, sport. I was not making a "joke" out of the ad. I thought it might've been poorly timed and in bad taste. You are apparently too close minded to understand that. I have nothing to apologize for. I notice no one else has chimed in to take your viewpoint-or mine. I've in the past enjoyed a lot of your posts of things from the past. Now I see you think you're the only one who's right or clever or funny. This will be my last comment to you on this. If you wanna keep being that way, have at it.Your edits and tunnel vision don't change anything: You made a tasteless joke based in ignorance and a lack of thought.
You could own up to it and apologize, but you choose to deflect, deny, and keep right on digging your hole.
By all means, please continue.
And on the doors to "employee only" areas. Now that there are a lot of women working in all kinds of shops, I wonder how the policies have changed. Or how many complaints go to H.R.I worked in a big factory out of High School and the large maintenance shop had about 30 tough guys. They all had rolling tool chests and RIGID tool calendars or similar taped to the top lid. Needless to say, back then the Calander girls wore very skimpy bikinis and left little to the imagination.
Some guys also had cool cars with nice looking women posing on them in thong bikinis too...if your old enough you know what I'm talking about. Those calendars were free from the tool companies too.
When an office lady or visiting group came through their area all you heard were the tool chest lids slamming shut simultaneously all over the maintenance shop. I won't even say what kind of magazines were in their top tool drawers!
Unfortunately it appears those are on the way back in. Not only the high waist but along with what most of us would call 'high waters' or puddle jumpers, stopping about 3" above the ankles. My wife will tune into to a couple of the home shopping channels occasionally and alas, there they are, being promoted like they're all the latest rage. Not a look I've ever found attractive. Those high waisted pants look good too! Ha!

If some of y'all didn't see my intent, that's not my problem but yours. I was not making fun of Columbia or the crew. I have nothing to apologize for. If my intent wasn't clear-to some-a simple question, rather than an unwarranted attack would've cleared it up.Actually I agree with Winslow, that, in light of all the accomplishments, remembering Columbia for it's final flight is somewhat offensive! Please, let it go and apologise.

Not content with being disingenuous, now you're just doubling down with sheer, bald-faced dishonesty. (Not that it's any surprise at this point.)If some of y'all didn't see my intent, that's not my problem but yours. I was not making fun of Columbia or the crew. I have nothing to apologize for. Absolutely nothing about that crack was a "simple question."Umm, kinda hate to mention it, but not too sure I'd want COLUMBIA shuttle mission patches. That wasn't exactly a big success.
I'm betting that turns out not to be true either, since it's clear you just cannot stand not having the last word. This will be my last comment to you on this.
Well, since you want to continue to attack me without first asking me what my mindset was, go ahead if it makes you feel like you've "won".Not content with being disingenuous, now you're just doubling down with sheer, bald-faced dishonesty. (Not that it's any surprise at this point.)
Let's recap the quote and the facts, just for posterity:
Absolutely nothing about that crack was a "simple question."
- You couldn't be bothered to read and contextualize the ad, and realize when it came from.
- You couldn't be bothered to consider the extent of Columbia's track record and contributions across its entire career.
- You did nothing but glimpse the Columbia insignia, and jump right to an attempt to score some quick-hit "internet points" by taking a cheap shot at the program, and the people who died in it.
Then, when you got called on it, you went on a series of tirades (and after-the-fact edits) blaming anyone but you for not buying your half-baked justifications and revisionist garbage. When that didn't get any traction, you resorted to personal attacks, which had to be edited by a mod.
The bottom line, clear to anyone who looks at it, is this: You didn't care one bit about anyone being "offended" by the Columbia insignia, nor did you care for the program or crew. You just took a steaming dump on something you didn't even bother trying to understand, then declared your crassness to be everyone else's fault.
I'm betting that turns out not to be true either, since it's clear you just cannot stand not having the last word.
Never mind that every time you say something about this, you only make it worse. That hasn't stopped you so far, so why screw up such a perfectly abysmal track record?

Nobody's attacking you. I just quoted your own words.Well, since you want to continue to attack me without first asking me what my mindset was, go ahead if it makes you feel like you've "won".
You are entitled to your wrong and ridiculous opinion. I know my intent; you don't. Drop it.Nobody's attacking you. I just quoted your own words.
Nobody "misunderstood" you. You said something impulsive, dismissive, and tasteless.
Nobody owes you any inquiry abut your "mindset." You've made it clear all along what it actually is.
Nobody is suffering from a "small mind." You're suffering from a delusion of your own importance and relevance.
Nobody cares about your age, nor does it even matter. What you said was out of line, at any age.
Nobody has "won" anything. You just keep insisting on losing (and lying about it).
How proud you must be.
You are entitled to your wrong and ridiculous opinion. I know my intent; you don't. Drop it.
This will be my last comment to you on this.
