That Jersey thing about cutting bike forks and pounding them onto other forks to make choppers....we did that out here in California too. Hoping for the best is right.

Do kids use cardboard to slide down dry grassy hills anymore?
Yeah we used to do that in Yorkshire in the sixties and early seventies. My dad (a welder) and other like-minded practical dads used to mash up bikes with flat bars and big gears and we used to take them into the woods, build tracks with berms, jumps and downhills and race 'em. Some had very rudimentary (and probably quite dangerous) suspension. Then we were told Gary Fisher invented 'Mountain Biking' in California. Yeah...of course he did(n't) - just spotted a marketing opportunity.
