I was just down Rte 19 in Washington. Also lived in McMurray for three years (8th thru 10th grade) before moving back to Washington. Spent many a winters' day skating on Canonsburg Dam.

Trinity High in '79.

I moved out of PA back in '81, and haven't made it back since. I do miss certain things about that area, though. Maybe someday I'll plan a 'reunion tour'!

Oh, man! Each of us boys had a Wizzer toy. Those things were pretty cool. You could put a marble in the indention at the top and it would spin like mad!

That Jersey thing about cutting bike forks and pounding them onto other forks to make choppers....we did that out here in California too. Hoping for the best is right.

Do kids use cardboard to slide down dry grassy hills anymore?

Yeah we used to do that in Yorkshire in the sixties and early seventies. My dad (a welder) and other like-minded practical dads used to mash up bikes with flat bars and big gears and we used to take them into the woods, build tracks with berms, jumps and downhills and race 'em. Some had very rudimentary (and probably quite dangerous) suspension. Then we were told Gary Fisher invented 'Mountain Biking' in California. Yeah...of course he did(n't) - just spotted a marketing opportunity.

OK, it was butt-ugly, but (1) if you were driving it you couldn't see how fugly it was, and (B), you could carry all yer bass gear in the back.
