Or in a metal can. With sharp edges. When those first came out, they didn't have the Child Safe lids. Cut my finger once or twice. Gave new meaning to the term Blood Pudding! ;)

They were a daily food item for me.
Frighteningly, I still remember at least one of the jingles. "Hey Hunts Snack Pack"... (there's more but I won't torture you all with it. Only myself...)
 
Those of us here of Indian heritage might get real nostalgic about this little VW van competitor from back in the day especially if their first generation or visited India a lot. I remember seeing the Tempo Matador in a number of movies. I liked it and wanted one. Loved the suicide doors on the early van/flatbed. The Tempo Viking really looked a VW though.

I've driven nothing but vans as my personal vehicle since '70. Never saw one of these though.
