Come out to Oregon. I about got tackled when I was passing through and filled up my own tank. The guy noted I was from Virginia at the time and backed off. So yeah,...they are all Full Service only in Oregon. I think there are other states in the union that are also Full Service only.

Evel Knievel was a god to me when I was growing up...

Also, diving boards at hotel and public pools. I remember it being an extra special treat when they had a high-dive as well as a regular diving board.

I used to love my Evel Knievel. I used to have a blue one with blue crank stand. Now that you mention swimming pools, when's the last time you saw a hotel swimming pool with a deep end deeper than 5 feet?

I had that motorcycle too!!

Remember Stretch Armstrong? And the He-Man action figures!!!

Oh yeah, never much into He-Man, but do remember Stretch Armstrong. I also got my butt beaten because I took a knife to him to find out what was inside that made him so stretchy. It was some kind of jelly stuff..

Oh, and someone mentioned "Micronauts" earlier. I still have my "Baron Karza" at the house. Back in the days before "saftey standards" ruined everything. The chest missile would leave a mark, I know, it hit me just under the eye and left a black mark.

No, they had a pull stick, like this:

I never had these, but I LOVED playing w/a neighbors *smashup derby* versions.

Edit: See post #260

My brother and I had those for like a day. We used to live in a huge farmhouse, and I remember the butt whooping we got when we launched these from the top of the stairs!!!

It's funny. So many sue-happy people in the late 80's-90's ruined being a kid. The toys these days are laughable. The real shame is that there is no going back.

Zelda on nes is one of my earliest memories, being just a little kid watching my dad play it. And also playing Zelda for awhile myself, but then going outside and playing Zelda make-believe with my friends and going on awesome adventures at our local park, back before games totally replaced imagination

Gah, great times! One of my earliest memories is of my brother and me playing Zelda in his room after school one day (my brother is 13 years older than me, so going into his room was a HUGE deal back in the day lol).

Likewise, I remember when video games were something you did only if it was raining outside, dark outside, way too cold outside, or if you and your friends were just way too tired from running around in the heat on a summer day and just needed a 20 minute power break indoors before hitting the streets again :D
