Also, stoping in the middle of a song, fade out, <click> (track changes) back where we left off. I think I had Led Zeppelin II and that occured in a song because it was so long.

Come out to Oregon. I about got tackled when I was passing through and filled up my own tank. The guy noted I was from Virginia at the time and backed off. So yeah,...they are all Full Service only in Oregon. I think there are other states in the union that are also Full Service only.

I believe Oregon and New Jersey are the only two. I love it this time of year

I miss these two, had like 5 the compilation books and remember reading them in the newspaper every day in the newspaper as a kid

now it seems the only traces you see are the classic Calvin peeing on things sticker, and I wonder how many people don't even know they came from a comic strip

I have three books too. My dad got them for me when I was little. Still read them once in a while too!

I don't know about New Jersey - but Oregon generally doesn't have "Full Serve", they have "Mini serve"... which amounts to a guy pumping your gas and nothing else.

Unlike full service they don't check the oil, or wash the windows, or any of that jazz... they just pump the gas.

My 8yo son is an avid Calvin and Hobbes reader... they still have 'em in the school library, and they still sell the collections through Scholastic Book Clubs.

I've never been a fan, but at least here in California you can still pick a pack of djarums at pretty much any liquor stores and most gas stations. And as for the second picture, hell, we got those too! Though they can be very pricey...

Thats awesome, those were one of my favorite elementary school reads, along with goosebumps and the Brian Jacques Redwall series
