It seems like alot of the "really great" things we had as kids really shows the change in society.
If people stopped being so greedy and suing at the drop of a hat, maybe we could still enjoy alot of the things on this thread. Some of them weren't the best ideas in hindsight, but some of the things listed here I really miss.

And is it really necessary to be warned that a freakin' cup of coffee is gonna be hot? I mean, really, people. What makes a person so greedy that they would sue over something like that?

The predecessor to the photo copier: the mimeograph.

That looks like a high tech version.
Here's an older model that they used at my highschool.

You answered your own question.

But to go a little more in depth... Money. A lot of people seem to think that the key to happiness is to have more money, even if it comes to you at the expense of others. The people filing these suits, they think how greatly their lives could be affected if say, they only had $10,000 (a life changing number for me, as Id be able to get out of all debt, including current car & loan payments). Well, then they think, if $10k can get me to a state of equilibrium, then $100k puts me far ahead. They dont think to consider the lives that are affected by their actions, theyre only concern is for themself.

I questioned whether 2 nuts would be ok, to which he replied: "Gregory, I've been running around my whole life with only 2 nuts and I've been doing fine". My teenage friends all laughed. Wow...good one dad! :D

:D:D:D:D

Used one of these along with all of the tools of the trade throughout jr. high, high school, college and early profession only to be replaced by a program and P.C.

In many ways I still prefer the ancient ways, but you can't beat CADD for speed and waste reduction.

NHL hockey players that you can recognize just by looking at them during the game (no helmets)

Follow your team closely enough and you'll be able to recognize who's on the ice.

BTW: That's Bobby Orr

EDIT: I'd say the typewriter,...but every hipster who thinks he/she is a writer has one collecting dust in their studio apartment.
