Thinking about renting a cabin to jam in

. Family cabin, not a rental. 
I have done exactly that with my band mates - the extreme change of scenery kicked off a really good stream of creativity and we rolled out of there at the end of the weekend with a couple of good songs that probably wouldn’t have happened otherwise
Used to go to a jam in Ohio on a farm, way out in the middle of nowhere. Usually about 15-20 musicians, and it was a thing to bring the coolest gear you had. The basement of the house was for the full band jams, and when you had enough, you could go out in the yard and get in the acoustic jams.
My hearing is so much worse because of those get togethers, but man, it was always fun.

Good idea, check the neighbor situation first though. A band I was in awhile back had bought a new PA system and the drummer said we should try it out at his family's lake cabin. The cabin a screened in porch that was almost as big as the rest of the cabin. We set up on a Friday, got everything sounding good, and had a really good rehearsal. We decided to do it again Saturday night. We get there, crack open some cold ones, turn everything on, start tuning up and out of the darkness, we hear a very loud, slightly perturbed Male voice saying, "If y'all decide to play again tonight, we're calling the cops!" Lesson learned 
Who needs good hearing anyway. Plus, the memories. Just kidding. Hearing is still very important.
In non-COVID times we would do this every winter at my camp. It was our annual polar bear dip as well. Some of my best memories are from those times. Cut a giant hole in the ice, get the sauna hotter than the sun and enjoy some extreme swimming before heading into the camp to a roaring fire in the woodstove, fine single malt scotch and jamming until the sun came up. I miss those times terribly. Can't wait for this COVID garbage to be done...
Do it. Play as loud as you want. Bears don't care. If anyone complains invite them in for a beer and give 'em a tambourine. That's how you make friends.

The pragmatist in me has this to say.
Are all the band members responsible, mature adults with no drug/drinking issues? If the answer to that is no you might be looking at some unexpected expenses.
I'd go to something like that, but no way would I want to be on the hook for the rental or sign a contract where Im responsible for property damage.
