Thinking Bad Thoughts...

Buy used. Check the Eden forums, TalkBass, and even eBay. I got my wt550 mint in-store demo model (with full warranty) for $720 shipped from WarpDriveMusic (eBay sale). My 210xst I bought new, but I could have bought used and saved a few hundred.

So lets start out by saying that i'm 18 years old, a full-time student,
I don't have alot of money. So i just found out i should be getting a big bonus at work (to the tune of $800-$1,200) so as soon as that happens I will be getting a head.

Somebody please talk me out of this and tell me i'd be happy with a Hartke.

There was a used G-K 800RB yesterday (classifieds) for $375 shipped. Pair that with an effcient cab that can handle higher volume levels, and you can save yourself some bucks!!

Actually, I saw an SWR 12 Stack in classifieds too. That has 4x12s, no tweeter, and would be a great rig for your music.

NOTE: I just checked, and the 800RB is sold but it looks like the 12 Stack is still available. !http://www.talkbass.com/forum/showthread.php?t=428572&highlight=swr+stack
A used G-K 1001RB should be easy to find if you keep your eye on the classifieds

+1 to go USED!!! Look in the Talkbass classifieds. Little Mark II(300w@8 & 500w @4 ohms) is a darn good amp 4 the $$$ but may not be enough of a step UP in power etc from yr HA3500. Aas stated Carvin B1500 would be AWESOME bang for buck!!!
2nd hand will give U more juicy options for the $$ tho. IMO-- go 4 a 2nd hand Ampeg 300w TUBE head(SVT-CL/ SVT2PRO/SVT2 etc) & put any $$ left over into a fund for a great cab to match! ie. Bergantino NV610 / NV215 both awesome for metal IMO

Everyone says used... but i've never had a good experience with used stuff. I've never bought used fro TB, and i'm sure the people here would be much more honest about their stuff than some one on ebay or something like that... but still... i've never bought something used that wasn't broken... what to do

contrary to what jimmym says I think the wt800 would be awesome!!! (maybe jimmy was talking about eden cabs? I think they can be 'clanky')
I definitely hate the cabs, no doubt. Maybe my dislike of Eden is the cabs. I don't know, because I can't recall ever playing an Eden head that wasn't hooked up to Eden cabs. But man, what a tinny sound from those cabs!

Have you tried out the new Hartke gear?

They also have a Play as you Pay Zero interest payment plan.
They split the bill into four equal payments and bill your credit or debit card automatically with no interest.

I used the similar program offered by American Musical Supply and they split the payment into 5 payments for purchases over $1000.00.

The Carvin stuff to me sounds much better than the Hartke hands down and the Carvin customer service is great. Our church had a Carvin Mics, one went bad and they overnighted a new one free.

My previous worship leader had, I think it was the 600 watt Carvin head, it had the Red Knobs. He had that coupled with a Mesa 210 that really sounded good.

You could pick up a new Carvin B15 head and a used Epifani 210 cabinet and have a killer rig for $1100-$1200.

But for me, I have a WT800 going through a D212XLT which adds nice thick low and mids and a UL210 that handles mid and highs with a sweetness.
