Hey guys, so i have a big question... How do i start to make a arrangement like this one???. Does he goes for the scale of the song root note and then just found the notes in the cords??? I really think it's cool this kind of videos and i would love some help. Another example is this one where the bass plays what the lyrics almost =D

1. Figure out the chords, transpose to a key that uses open strings.
2. Figure out the melody, transpose to the key you changed it to.

Usually the notes of the melody can be fretted at the same time as the chords. At that point it's just a matter of figuring out which chord tones to leave out so that you have a free finger to fret a melody note. MELODY IS KING!!! Always favor melody notes over chord tones. I'm posting this from my phone while on a train, so I don't have an instrument in hand, but it sounds like that piece is built on a fairly common chord progression:

I | I/3 | IV | V

So, for example, if you're in the key of D, the chords would be:

D (D F# A)
D with an F# in the bass (same notes but with an F# as the lowest note)
G (G B D)
A (A C# E)
