Thinnest Jazz Bass Neck in Your Experience

It would appear that some peeps are getting width and thickness confused. I have yet to find a bass with a neck thinner (front to back) than my Dean Jeff Berlin signature basses made in Czech Republic. Just under 3/4” at the nut and not much more than an inch down the neck. Also very flat radius.

And yes, I realize it is not a Jazz bass.

I have a 2011 Fender MIA Special Jazz and it is by far one the thinnest bass necks I have ever played.

The neck is just great.

My Sadowsky feels like a PBass compared to the special.

I’ll tell you about thin. My ‘71 jazz neck was so thin that the nut actually cracked between the A and D strings because there was almost no wood left on top of the truss rod rout. A brass nut solved the problem back when this thread was current, and it’s still fine today. …wish I still had it around to measure thickness for y’all.
