Don't know about that body style being a bass...

I didn't say copy for bass, but SPIN it! Tough to spin an offset that wild, but I've come to understand that your vision doesn't have limits. I'm not an instant fan of the new shape as is, but I think it suggests other, better shapes. It's like they didn't iterate long enough. Maybe I'll trace it with bezier curves and start tweaking for my own amusement.

Even if I can't improve the body shape, I'm definitely not sold on that pickguard.

I don't understand the mind of a guitarist so I avoid attempting to design guitars. Whether I like a guitar design or not is purely aesthetic and not based on functionality - maybe it's why I like the wacky 60's guitar designs that came out of Japan, Russia etc. I do understand bass - so here's my bass-version addressing the points I posted and leaving as much of the original design as possible.
