This is a sweet bass.

Great build quality and I love the grain of the wood, amazing looking fretboard, the only thing I don't care for about the bass is it's design itself.

While I love pointy basses, that one just doesn't work for me. Overall the bass and build quality is amazing. I just can't stand the shape of the horns. IMHO, they don't flow at all with the rest of the body (whic is all good) or overall concept. I MUCH prefer the Explorer shape they do.

If the horns were reversed and more pointy, I would like the dragon better. I'd make the top horn reversed looking like the top horn on a BSR Mockingbird. The lower horn, again, more pointy with a shape that compliments the other end of the body. IMHO, the explorer style is timeless and theirs looks like the other ones, just much more "booteek" and high end.

There's no doubting the craftsmanship involved in creating (not "making") something like that. But jeez, it's probably worth more than everything in my house...and my house. It's definitely not my style, however interesting it may be.

I understand what you mean. If I had the choice of either Alembic, I'd take the Explorer though Now if Alembic did an Iceman shape..................WHOA!!
