THIS IS AWESOME!!

Fishbone was the best live band on earth in their peak. Stunning musicianship, amazing vocals (3 different legit killer frontmen), and easily one of the finest rock/funk drummers of his generation in Fish himself. All hail the da mighty 'bone!

Peep dis for complete sickness of bass tone and some of the balls out heaviest groove ever created.

If you ain't hip to Fishbone, you ain't livin'. One of the great tragedies of American music industry is they treated this gorgeous, conscious music like a fad. Lumped them in with Living Colour, 24-7 Spyz, Follow For Now etc. All great bands, but Fishbone worked on another plane from the rest of the scene. Pure emotion/melody/chops and more soul than a motown convention on Easter Sunday. We are all the worse for their tragic oversight of this seminal band. Truth and Soul is the epiphany, but Reality Of My Surroundings is the masterpiece.

Nutmeg-a-lo-maniacs unite!

My problem with Fishbone was hearing a lot of filler and very little, if any, killer. Bought some albums, tried to like them over the course of years, never found any hooks to make me want to hear more. Follow For now, same problem.

I'm a big fan of the Spyz and especially Bad Brains (greatest band ever), but Fishbone was one of the few bands I've ever walked out on. Biohazard opened for them and those guys had groove. Fishbone was just a bunch of guys who were really full of themselves, claiming they wanted us to party but too busy acting like dorks to give us anything to party to. Novelty act with a lot of talent, IMO, but they didn't put the talent to much good use when I saw/heard them.

You'll disagree with me of course, but just realize I'm not the only one that heard it this way. If they had the goods they'd have lasted. RHCP were a similar band, in their clown act and funk rock sound, but RHCP had a hit or three per album and Fishbone didn't.

I didn't like the OP's video/tune, though I do dig plenty of "extreme" music. I just thought that was too middle-of-the-road and a poor song to boot. I don't mind "extreme" vocals if it suits the vibe, but IMO this didn't work at all.

Thanks for the Edgar Winter and Horse The Band vids. Those ruled !

EDIT : Here's my contribution of heaviness with keys. It's only 30 seconds and includes a babe on co-vocals and a guy playing a 7 string Bee. http://youtube.com/watch?v=zeliLPE_3wE

2nd EDIT : wish I'd seen the recent Between The Buried and Me tour w/ Horse The Band. I was going to go to Seattle, but the venue isn't to my liking. I've seen both bands up here many times, so hopefully they'll swing by. So in that spirit here's a BTBAM live video with keys and monster chops (bass clearly in the mix) Invalid Link Removed Vocals are a bit cookie-style in parts, but not for most of it. If that's not your thing, get over it and enjoy the progressive music. Speaking of which, if you judge it and talk #### about it without at least checking out 3:20 onwards then ... I'd sure like to hear your band be half as creative or play that well. Thanks in advance.

Man, that is like the only Battlelore song worth listening too.
I bought the album, the rest of it sucks IMO. But House of Heroes is awesome.

Trollshaws is a good song, or Raging Goblin.
A lot of their older stuff is supposed to be very good, havent lisend to many of their songs yet though, or any songs offa house of heroes album(dont actually know the name).
