Well today i caleed one of my local music stores to see if they taught bass. Nope only 2 guitar teachers. So i called my local GC. No lessons a bassist there said he could point me out to a few good vidoes and said he could give me a lesson every now and then. so no one in my city teaches basss. its freaking crazy lol. what to do.... what to do? oh yeah ive been trying to teach myself some stuff but i want to take lessons cuz i am totally lost in teaching myself.

sometimes it can be advantageous to have a guitar player teach you- provided he knows what hes doing.

I could definitely be wrong, but it seems to me that all of the knowledge you'd want from an instructor face to face would apply to most any instrument. Bass-specific techniques can be found online.

If you go to www.wholenote.com, then click on Instruction, there is a teacher finder. It shows someone in Saraland, which should be pretty close to you. I can't say I would necessarily recommend him after reading his ad, but its worth checking into..
