Noticed some gnarly buzz on the G string fifth fret, loosened the rod and now everything below the sixth fret is buzzing including the open string. D isn't buzzing when open but yes on frets 1-5, other two strings are okay.

Not sure why TB isn't letting me edit this post... I think I got the rod direction reversed on this bass, reset to zero and then adjusted a bit in the other direction. I now see some relief and don't have a buzzing open G but the initial buzz at the fifth fret remains.

No. Mine is pristine. I can't find a flaw.

I usually set up my basses myself, but this one came from Sweetwater set up really well. The intonation was dead on and the action was set about medium. I was able to tweak it down a little more, but I play very aggressively, so I find it very acceptable. The G string needs to stay a little high to prevent buzzing (about .20 at the 12th fret). The other are 0.2 to 0.215. That's pretty good for the way I play.

I have two basses at 0.16 on the G, so I hear what you are saying. It could be better, but mine isn't bad.

That seems pretty awesome, whatever they want to call it. The maple board and matching headstock really make it a classic look.

The Z7 fretless seem to be readily available now. I am very tempted by the 5 string fretless option. I would love to hear from anyone who has played one.
