THIS is why every bass player needs a RAT

Dig the vid, rockin the song, *love* the bass tone ... but why doesn't my rat sound anything like that? I picked up a Turbo Rat a while back, tried it, and found that there's squat for low end when it's on ... it seems to require an EQ in the chain with it ... tried the Reutz mod, but no real improvement in low end response. Kind of wonder how I might re-solder that resistor back in ... Hmmm Fuzzrocious Rat Tail, eh ... I think there's room on the board for one more ....

im 99% sure its that combo. I would also say the strings he's using.

this is a major Rat pedal geek out thread. oresome.

I was also thinking he might have been using his whammy there, or some other pitch shifting method.

It's a justified geek out. I don't even own a Rat in any incarnation (yet) and I'm obsessed with them. I say the Rat tone should define its own entire genre of music.
"What kind of music do you listen to?"
"Oh you know, rock, alternative stuff. Mostly Rat music"

I blend my OD and RT with a little clean signal. Both sound fine without, but I find a slight blend fattens it up nicely. Keep my fuzz straight up though.

edit: lol to post above, more and more these days, i'll dig anything with distorted bass. The Cult of Bass Distortion facebook page is great.

Alot of people use blender pedals to preserve their low end, while their flavor of distortion or overdrive may change through the song, night, life, etc.
