THIS is why every bass player needs a RAT

Ok, I've whipped together some sound clips of the Rat Tail.
A few things to remember:
-Never uploaded clips before
-Did this in 5mins
-these are pretty high gain settings, I can do lower gain ones if requested.
-Sounds waaaay awesomer through my Ampeg rig - LOUD.
-Tried to play something along the lines of Young Widows

You get the idea I hope. Turn it up abit with headphones.

thanks for the clips. sounds great.

good point. i did see that, there hasn't been any recent shots of his board though.

man.. everytime i read your sig, i lol.

Yeah, I still get a kick out of it after all this time. I saw that while reading in the DB forums. Guy bought a DB from an estate sale. Apparently it sat in a basement for a while and got some mold inside. He was asking how to properly clean it out without messing up the finish. The quote is obviously where he was discussing the smell portion of his problem. My preverted mind saw humor in that snip-it, so I snatched it up for a sig.

I just got a Rat 2 & modded it with the original LM308 & the double Ruetz Rat mod with trim pots. Still yet to do the 3 stage clipping mod as I can't stop using it, as is. Very cool sounds, for sure. I couldn't afford a Rat Tail & am handy with a soldering iron, but for those of you not interested in opening up your pedals, GET A RAT TAIL.

The owner is maybe the nicest & most helpful guy around. His Grey Stache is awesome, too, so actually you need both.

Also, don't forget the bassist for Unsane. He uses an old Whiteface Rat, I believe.

Even though I've modded my own Rat & I'm working on my own Muff, I'm buying a Fuzzrocious or 2 as soon as I can sell some gear. (I got a reissue plexi in a trade & now I can sell my JCM900 SL-X)

The man's pedals are at the feet of some of my favorite tones (players).

Which is pretty incredible considering he's only been in "business" for less than two years. He did put out some BYOC stuff longer ago, but I don't think those ended up anywhere significant. This, his second attempt, he really hit the nail on the head for a nitch market. I've really enjoyed seeing him get the recognition he deserves. Couldn't happen to a better dude either. I hope his sales keep up so he can keep justifying his efforts. I've personally bought 7 pedals from him, and had my GS+ remodded once. I alone can't support his entire business, but I certainly don't mind trying :D

I blame This thread and the op for my recent Rat Tail purchase...

Its cool though. I ain't even mad bro.

When I take your first sentence out of context to the topic at hand, it cracks me up!...as I picture a person purchasing a male hair extension, so they can have a rat tail!

Apart from that, I need to sell a couple things so I can get a rat tail (or king) and a grey stache. My turbo rat is cool, but I'm sure the rat tail would be a whole lot better with my bass.
