Thomastik Infeld Superalloy IN345: Best.Strings.Ever

Got a bass off the classifieds that came with these on there, havent changed them in a month and they are unbelievable! I get DR Hi-Beams for free and im actually spending my own money on TI's from now on. They seriously have the smoothest break in ive experienced, and they feel the same as the day i got them.

You get Hi-Beams for free? Well then, if you're switching, hook us up brother!

Seriously, though, I've always wanted to try TI's, if not on my electric then on my upright. They get such rave reviews, but they're so expensive!

I just picked up a set of these TI superalloy 345 and I got them at 50% off cause the store was moving and downsizing :) I should of bought the powerbass set they had too. When I got home I wanted to put them on my modulus flea but they seem a bit too long on the b string so I thinking that I'll try them on my warwick that's a 35" scale. I like the warwick strings alot and havent tried anything else on it.... anyone have any thoughts?

Had a5-string set. The tone was very, very fat, a little dark, but lots of punch. The B-string was excellent. They had the same kind of pitch stability that I associate with R. Cocco strings. I've stuck with Cocco, as having a bit less tension, but these are excellent strings.

I've ordered the IN 346 Superalloy set for my Ristola-6. Can't wait to hear how they sound. I've tried a lot of different brands over the years, I mainly use D'Addario XLs; this will be the first time I've tried the Infeld brand.

I have infeld superalloy on a couple basses....they sound wonderful! they have great growl deep lows and a pretty smooth pianoy sound across the board....but a touch rough on the fingers....and a bit high tension (although that probably depends on the bass) and they last forever. I dont think they ever lose their tone!
I like the feel of XLs and Fodera better but the tone of the superalloys are wonderful.
I am getting a new select jazz today and I cant decide whether to put the pack of superalloys I have on it or XLs or Fodera. XLs dont seem to last that long.
oh one more thing about the superalloy they sound incredible with fingers but not the best for slapping.
I hear the Thomastik jazz rounds are great strings.

Thanks for the info! Other than having a rougher feel than XL's, everything else about them sounds great. Are they rough on frets?
